Emerson Quiet Kool Returns With New Home-Comfort Line

Iconic brand is back with new owners and distribution 5/01/2017 02:30:00 PM Eastern

The venerable Emerson Quiet Kool line has returned to the U.S. home-comfort market under new ownership and with a revamped product line.

The brand, first launched in 1949, was acquired, among others, by Fedders in 1990, and changed hands again after that business went bust in 2007.

Current owners HomeEasy, a 12-year-old home-comfort manufacturer based in Hong Kong, bought the brand last year from Ductless America and set up regional headquarters in Fairfield, N.J.

Its 2017 product line now extends to window, through-the-wall and portable ACs, mini-split heating and cooling systems, package terminal ACs, and dehumidifiers featuring “new technologies and enhanced energy efficiencies at an attractive price point,” said Jack Zheng, marketing and sales director for North America. “We spent many months and long hours to develop a product assortment that would be the most innovative and reliable product available in the U.S. today.”

According to president Issac Share, enhancements include rotary compressors with few moving parts and higher-quality copper windings for improved reliability and longer life, and hydrophilic-coated aluminum fins to promoted corrosive free operation. Indeed, the sealed compressor system carries a 5-year manufacturer’s warranty, while the products themselves are covered for one year for parts and labor, and two years for parts.

In February the company named Almo Corp. its exclusive U.S. distributor for the online channel, and the brand can currently be found on the e-commerce sites of Amazon, The Home Depot, Lowe’s, Sam’s Club, Walmart and Wayfair, among others.
