The Consumer Technology Association (CTA) is hosting its first-ever New American Jobs Summit just steps from the Capitol Building in Washington today.

The summit will bring together policymakers, tech industry leaders and key influencers to address the future of job creation in the U.S. It will explore how government and the private sector can collaborate to develop a competitive workforce, create new high-wage jobs and foster economic growth in the face of rapid technological innovation, an aging population and increased global competition.

Policymakers participating will include Rep. Virginia Foxx (R-N.C.), Rep. Susan Brooks (R-Ind.), Rep. Suzan DelBene (D-Wash.), Rep. Darrell Issa (R-Calif.),  Rep. Seth Moulton (D-Ma.), Rep. Jared Polis (D-Colo.) and Rep. Hakeem Jeffries (D-N.Y.).

Tech leaders will include THX CEO Ty Ahmad Taylor, Revolution CEO (and AOL founder) Steve Case, BenjiLock CEO Robbie Cabral, EverFi president John Chapman, Toyota government affairs director Robert Chiapetta, Walmart government affairs director Micaela Fernandez Allen, Phone2Action founder Ximena Hartsock, FWD.us president Todd Schulte, Clearly Innovative founder Aaron Saunders and Qualcomm VP Alice Tornquist, among many others.

In addition, CTA market research director Steve Koenig will present the results of a survey conducted by CTA on “The Future Of Work,” and CTA chief economist Shawn DuBravac will join Bruce Stephen, research director for Monster Government Solutions, for a session titled "The Jobs Report: Where Are We Now? Where Are We Heading?"

Other sessions will include "From Classrooms To Corporations: Teaching The Next Generation of American Workers," "Platforms and Economic Empowerment," and a case study on "How Disruptive Technology Is Creating Local Jobs."

The event will wrap up with a fireside chat between CTA president Gary Shapiro and Case entitled "The Revolution We Need."

A full agenda for the all-day event is available at cta.tech. CTA will also be live-streaming the event from start to finish at the same page.
